Hi, I'm Chris.
This is the home page for my little slice of the web.
I'm a designer in Columbus, Ohio. For the past few years I've focused on software for people who use it all day to get real work done, where a confusing screen costs someone time they don't have. My job is mostly getting out of their way.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time making things. I build websites and small side projects, usually around whatever I'm curious about at the moment. I play and tinker with retro games and old tech/software. And when I want to step away from screens entirely, I paint.

Running two GBA classics back to back, chasing that particular mix of tight movement and a world that rewards backtracking with a memory instead of a map marker.
Deep in a Stephen Shore and Mark Power phase, pointing the camera at strip malls and back alleys and trying to actually see them instead of looking past them.
Working a Tsuchiya Kōitsu woodblock print into gouache, figuring out how to turn flat printed color fields into something that still reads as brushwork.
